Four east coast teams travel to Ireland later this month for a hockey tourney in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The event, the “Friendship Four,” takes place Nov. 23-24Â at The SSE Arena. This is the fourth year for the tournament. It is promoted as the only time NCAA D-1 hockey teams play outside of the United States.
Boston University, Yale, Connecticut and Union College will send teams to the tournament. Tickets to this unique NCAA hockey event are available here.
According to the website, “The Friendship Four Tournament celebrates the Boston/Belfast Sister city agreement by helping to foster stronger cultural, economic, and academic relationships between Northern Ireland and America. Using amateur sport, it creates opportunities to unite communities, providing a conduit to revitalise the cultural ties between America and Northern Ireland.”
