Other Story-lines to watch this weekend:

  • Andrew Luck starts his first game since 2016 as the Indianapolis Colts host the Cincinnati Bengals.
  • According to nfl.com, Sam Darnold will be the youngest QB to ever start as the Jets head into Detroit for a Monday night match-up.
  • Kirk Cousins, the highest profile free agent signing this year, gets his first start at home against the 49ers. Think Jimmy Garoppolo will have something to say?
  • Adrian Peterson starts fresh with the Washington Redskins as he faces off his previous team, the Arizona Cardinals.
  • Jon Gruden returns to Oakland as the Raiders host the L.A. Rams in a Monday night match-up. Will he miss Khalil Mack?
  • The WNBA finals start on Friday between the Seattle Storm and Washington Mystics.
  • The Houston Astros pop into Boston for a three-game series against the Red Sox. A playoff preview?
  • On paper UCLA at Oklahoma shouldn’t be much trouble for the Sooners. But we’re keeping an eye on it anyway. We feel the same about Clemson at Texas A&M.
  • USC and Stanford meet up in an early Pac-12 dogfight.
  • Pittsburgh vs Penn State and Iowa and Iowa State are a couple of in-state rivalry games to watch.
